Even though we are an event caterer first and foremost, every now and then we like to get our teams out in front of the public and just doing what we love most: serving great foods to great people!
That is why just last weekend we took up an invite to set up shop at one of the local markets in Lancashire and serve out hot hog roast rolls to any passers by that couldn’t help but be drawn in by the incredible look of our whole hog roasting nicely on our state-of-the-art hog roast machine. On a cold winter’s day, there’s little better cures for the temperature than a delicious and fresh pulled pork roll, served teeming hot straight from the roaster with a roll and plenty of accompanying sauces, stuffing, and lovely crispy crackling. Delish!
The market runs every week and often set up with numerous food stalls, all of which looked incredible to the Hog Roast Lancashire team as we took a quick moment to snoop around before guests really started to arrive in droves. Many delicious vegan focused stalls, incredible homemade pastries, sausage rolls, artisanal cheeses, even fresh veg and produce. Our chef even nabbed a delicious almond cookie for breakfast before finishing off our hog roast – thanks for that one, Margaret!
A market like this is of a different speed to our usual event catering. For one, we are serving anyone that passes by and charging per roll, as opposed to charging only the event organiser and having everyone dine at their own leisure. There is also far less pressure to perform specifically for a client, which meant we had a little more time to natter and chat to customers as they ordered and waited for their rolls. It’s not a bad way to spend a Saturday lunchtime, although we can’t stay away from the events for too long – especially with Christmas just around the corner and the busiest event period of the year oncoming fast! For now, though, it was a nice break to keep the Hog Roast Lancashire team refreshed for the festive period ahead!
