Easily recognised by the organisation’s beloved mascot, Pudsey Bear, Children In Need is a fantastic charity that has been helping disadvantaged children and young people all over the UK for over four decades!
Each and every year, millions of Brits tune in to watch the BBC’s annual telethon, which regularly features well-known celebs, and last year raised more than £39 million in donations.
With the official televised appeal now only a few days away, people across the country are ramping up their efforts to raise last-minute funds for the campaign, which has kept our Taste the Cracklin’s caterers extremely busy!
Just yesterday, our team helped Sonja with an office party, which she had organised in the hopes of raising money and awareness for the Children In Need Charity. All of her staff had been asked to abandon their uniforms for the day in favour of their cosiest PJs, which was an instant mood booster in itself!
Sonja had also organised a professional face painter to come along and paint faces and provide temporary tattoos for anyone interested, and she had arranged a raffle with lots of great prizes to be won, including gift vouchers, hampers filled with goodies and some high-end tech items!
Hog Roast Taste the Cracklin had been called in to serve our Alfresco Menu, which saw us treat Sonja and her staff to an out-of-this-world hog roast with crackling, stuffing and applesauce accompaniments, homemade gourmet coleslaw, heritage tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad, a selection of seasonal leaves and buttered new potatoes. The menu also featured grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers as a meat-free option for Sonja’s vegetarian and vegan staff.
This tasty feast also included charcuterie boards, which were covered in a selection of the finest-quality Italian deli meats, cheeses, artisan breads, olives and sundried tomatoes, which gave the guests something to pick away at throughout the afternoon.
Bringing this incredibly successful event to a close, Taste the Cracklin served homemade profiteroles and rich chocolate torte, which went down a treat!
Sonja and her staff had a brilliant time, and more importantly, they managed to raise more than £400 for charity!
