What Affects the Cost of a Hog Roast?
One of the most common questions we get asked is how much a hog roast costs.
The honest answer is that it depends on the event. A hog roast for a family gathering will look very different to one being served at a wedding, corporate event or large celebration. Guest numbers, menu choices, serving requirements and the venue itself all play a part in the final cost.
Rather than offering fixed packages that don’t suit every booking, we provide quotes based on what is actually needed for the day.

Guest Numbers Matter
The number of guests is usually the biggest factor when working out the cost of a hog roast.
Catering for 50 people requires a different amount of food, preparation and service than catering for 250. As numbers increase, so does the amount of planning needed to make sure food is served efficiently and at the right time.
If you’re requesting a quote, an estimated guest count is one of the most useful details you can provide.
What's Included?
Every event is different, so the contents of each booking can vary.
Most customers choose a traditional hog roast served with fresh rolls, stuffing, apple sauce and crackling. Others add sides, salads or alternative options for guests with dietary requirements.
Some customers want a straightforward hog roast with all the traditional accompaniments. Others need additional menu options, desserts or alternatives for guests with specific dietary requirements.
We’ll discuss what you’d like included and provide a quote based on those requirements rather than trying to fit your event into a standard package.

Weddings, Parties and Corporate Events
Different types of events come with different expectations.
A wedding may require food to be served between speeches and evening entertainment. A corporate event may involve feeding a large number of guests within a limited timeframe. Private parties are often more relaxed and can be planned around the flow of the day.
Knowing how the event is planned helps us understand what’s needed on the day and provide a more accurate quote.
Every Venue Is Different
The venue can also influence the overall cost of catering an event.
Access, setup areas and serving arrangements all need to be considered before the day. Some venues offer plenty of space, while others require a little more planning to make everything run smoothly.
We’ll always discuss the venue with you beforehand and explain exactly what’s included in your quote.
How to Get a Quote
The quickest way to receive an accurate quote is to send us a few details about your event.
This includes the date, venue location, estimated guest numbers and any menu requirements you already have in mind.
Once we have those details, we’ll put together a quote based on your plans and explain exactly what’s included.
The more information you can provide, the more accurate the quote will be.
Why We Don't Use Fixed Packages
One thing we’ve learned over the years is that no two events are ever the same.
A wedding for 80 guests has very different requirements to a corporate event for 300 people or a private party in someone’s garden. Guest numbers, serving times, menu choices and the venue itself can all affect what’s needed on the day.
That’s why we don’t rely on fixed packages that may include things you don’t need. Instead, we take the time to understand the event and provide a quote based on the actual requirements rather than a standard package.
